Perfect location. Serviceable rooms. Surprisingly quiet. I didn't have to speak to a soul. Good wifi. AC wasn't too bad. My room was very clean. I wish I knew there was parking in the back. I didn't realize until I was leaving. It is a microtel and there are shared bathrooms. If I had a noisy or inconsiderate neighbor it would have been a nightmare. My biggest complaint is the absurdly bright blue light on the room's mirror. As far as I could tell there was no way to turn it off. If I didn't bring a blindfold I would have never slept.

I stayed here just over a year ago but I'm seeing I didn't leave a review. I think about this place frequently, it's very unique here in America, in this instance it was exactly what I was looking for. I was taking a greyhound bus into town for the night, I needed a place to stay solo. I got a room here for around $100. That's my first bone of contention, the location is nice but I imagine at $50-75 a night this place would be packed every night. My only complaint about the entire experience is that when I was assigned a room I opened it and it was dirty. The attendant said it was a mistake and asked me to wait 15 minutes while it was remedied. Kind of alarming in post pandemic times when a 15 minute cleaning is all it takes regardless of room size. It was fine, like I mentioned above I was commuting via bus so I could use the shower. I took a nice hot shower in the community (not super clean) shower facilities. When I got out my room was ready. I stored my stuff, laid down for a bit and headed out for my next adventure. When I returned it was late, everything was fine. I went right to my room and laid down... exhausted. It wasn't the best night's sleep but I don't fault the property for that at all. The next morning I was ready to go. Again, I'd stay here anytime I'm in Chicago traveling alone unless there was an Airbnb nearby but know what you're getting into. This is very no frills. I loved it.

I almost never leave reviews for places I stay but I really want to leave one for this hostel. First of all the location is very strategic, very close to the subway station and bus stop. I booked one night here for the Blackpink concert at Soldier Stadium. I didn't expect that on the night I stayed I would meet a few fellow Blinks (Blackpink fans) here so I was able to walk to the stadium together with them. So if you're looking for a place to stay overnight for a concert at Soldier Stadium I highly recommend this place. It's true that the room is not big but I had my own personal space. The room is just enough if you're bringing a cabin-sized suitcase and that was more than enough for me. The bathroom was clean and they provided soap and shampoo in the shower although I brought my own toiletries. There are two shared bathrooms, one had a hairdryer and one didn’t but I’m not sure if it worked because I didn’t try it. I recommend bringing flip-flops to wear in the bathroom. There's a kitchenette here with a microwave and an electric kettle. Drinking water is provided and there's even an iron. There's wifi, too. The customer care staff were very friendly and helped me with check-in, check-out and answered all my questions when I was confused. Every room has a security code that works like a hotel key. Overall I was very satisfied staying here. If I ever go to another concert I will definitely rebook this hostel

Great location downtown Chicago. Within walking distance of Soldier Field and Shedd Aquarium. Perfect if you’re just staying by yourself and need a quick place to sleep. Didn’t like that I had to share a bathroom and shower with others, but life goes on. Room was tiny, but like I said, if you need a last minute place to stay this is a good choice.

Great Place to sleep. Just wished the bathroom was cleaner however the location, price, quietness, and overall the convenience of being in a hostel-like hotel without sharing a room makes it a very solid option for single travelers

You get what you pay for, and you should know that it’s more barebones style of staying. But if you’re a guy who’s looking for a place to sleep and shower this does the job. Beds were comfortable and pod was well heated

I was not entirely sure what to expect when I decided to book my stay here. All I knew was that the location looked amazing and the price couldn't be beat. The manager let me check in a little earlier than usual which was a life saver because I had to check out of my other hotel earlier than expected and had nowhere to go with my luggage. The room was small as advertised but comfortable and just enough for a solo traveler. The manager informed me that there were six other people staying at the same time as me, but I didn't hear a single noise during my stay or had any issues getting to the two shared bathrooms. My only criticism was that the water did not get as hot as I would have liked in the shower, but no one dies over a lukewarm shower. This place is a 15 - 20 minute walk from the Fields Museum, Adler Planetarium and Shedd Aquarium so I didn't have to spend money on Ubers to get to explore those attractions. I would definitely recommend this place to any solo travelers.

Can't beat the price for the location! You get what is advertised, a very small room with just a bed. The shared bathrooms weren't super clean, and the rooms get pretty warm during the day. The bed was not super comfy either. But it all did the trick, and that's all I'm asking for when I stay here. If you want any amenities or higher level of comfort, stay at any of the hotels down the street for twice or triple the price. Definitely recommend bringing earplugs and a sleep mask - I didn't have any sound problems but I always bring earplugs everywhere, and the LED buttons on the mirror are pretty bright and don't shut off so the sleep mask was a lifesaver
